Everything you need to know before your Sundarban adventure
Planning Your Visit
The best time is October to February — cool weather, clear skies, and excellent wildlife sightings. March–May is warmer but tiger sightings increase near water sources. Avoid June–September (monsoon) as the forest may be partially closed and travel is difficult.
Take a train from Sealdah to Canning (~1.5 hrs), then bus/auto to Gosaba Ferry Ghat (~1 hr), then a boat to Pakhirala (~40 min). Total journey: 4–5 hours. We can arrange pickup from Gosaba — just call ahead on 9933310182.
We recommend booking at least 3–5 days in advance. For weekends, holidays, and peak season (Nov–Jan), book 2 weeks ahead. Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible — call us to check availability.
Packages & Inclusions
Yes! Boat safari is included in all three packages — 1 Day Tour, 1N2D, and 1N3D. The 1N3D package includes a full 2-day safari covering all major spots including Sudhanyakhali, Sajnekhali, Do-Banki, and Panchamukhani.
We serve authentic Bengali cuisine — fresh fish (Hilsa, Bhetki, Prawn), mutton curry, rice, dal, and vegetables. Vegetarian meals are available on request. Please mention dietary requirements when booking. All meals are freshly prepared daily.
Yes, all forest entry permits are included in our package prices. You don't need to arrange anything separately — our team handles all permits from the West Bengal Forest Department.
Travel to Gosaba ferry ghat is not included. Personal expenses, alcoholic beverages, and professional camera permits are also not included. Everything else — accommodation, meals, boat safari, guide, local transport, and permits — is covered.
Wildlife & Safety
Tiger sightings are possible but not guaranteed — they are wild animals. Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower and Do-Banki Tiger Reserve are the best spots. Many of our guests have spotted tigers! Even without a tiger sighting, the mangrove forest, crocodiles, deer, and birds make for an extraordinary experience.
Yes, Sundarban is safe when visited with experienced local guides following forest department guidelines. Our guides are trained professionals. All boat safaris use proper safety equipment and stay within permitted zones. We have an excellent safety record.
We maintain high hygiene standards — rooms are cleaned daily, all meals are freshly prepared with clean water, and our boats are regularly sanitized. Drinking water is provided throughout the tour. Hand sanitizer is available at all times.
